is a copy of the minutes from the January 20th Post meeting to let
you know what your Post has been up to.
There are also miscellaneous tidbits of information that you might find
useful. Our next meeting is on February
17th and we hope to have our first joint meeting night with the Auxiliary. The divider doors will soon go up and we hope
you will try to attend. Please bring the
enclosed copy of the last meeting’s minutes with you if you can attend.

There have been changes to the Dependency and Indemnity Compensation
(DIC) rules for the Surviving Spouse who remarries. Some may qualify to have their DIC
reinstated.

DoD official says future bright for most
commissaries. DoD
not looking to close commissaries though of the 276 worldwide, 19 have been put
on watch list.
The
SBP “Paid Up” provision which allows retirees to stop paying premiums after 30
years of premium payment and reaching age 70 does not go into effect until
October 1, 2008.
