MESSAGE FROM THE COMMANDER:
Well
it’s that time again, time for the annual Halloween Dance!!!! Come one, come all and have some fun with us
on 30 October at the Legion. Tickets are
$20 per couple and $10 for singles. Costumes
are optional but you will need one to try and win the 1st, 2nd
or 3rd place cash prizes for the best costume. There will also be door prizes (no costume
required). One of our members, Bonnie
Lou and her Stealth Band will be playing.
Bonnie was our entertainment for the past two Independence Day BBQ’s and
she is good, so come out and have some fun and enjoy the atmosphere!!! The bar will be open so even non-legionnaires
will be able to attend and have a soda or alcoholic beverage.
In
addition it is also time to vote, so leave your hanging chads
at home and make sure you perform your civic duty and get out there and
vote! If you’re still undecided and
would like some information on the presidential candidates please stop by the
post and read their answers to the questions posed to them by the American
Legion and the Disabled Veterans organization.

At the current rate of sales, the prize should be $50 for the

A
lot of folks have been asking when are we going to
have another rummage sale. I thought we
were going to be able to have one in November or December but it looks like it
won’t be till spring. The Auxiliary will
be hosting it so stay tuned.

Sisters and Comrades,
The
holiday season is here, there’s a nip in the air and this is the time of the
year I would like to go into hibernation but can’t, too much to do. Maxine Bowling and I are looking forward to
Fall Conference. Five Auxiliary members
are planning on going, which is great.
This
is a very busy season for all of us. If
you could take a moment to say a little prayer for our veterans and our men and
women still serving our country, it would be great. Also, remember our homeless vets. If you could send a donation to homeless
vets, it would be wonderful, we will forward it to the VA Hospital in

all looking forward to the New Year’s Eve Party December 31st. Tickets will be in December’s newsletter or
sold at the door, $10 per person. Come
and have a safe New Year’s and a wonderful time. We will be drawing the winning tickets for
the raffle at the party. The prizes are
a beautiful Indian oil painting, a fantastic stain glass sun catcher, a $50
cash prize and an American Flag pillow.

starting with the December newsletter. Thanks
to Al and Kelly Walsh, we now have a Canon copier at the Post. The newsletter will be copied on the copier
rather than printed from my printer. By
